After a patient has completed early interceptive treatment and all of their permanent teeth are erupted they are ready for the next step or Phase II orthodontics as we call it here in the office. If a new patient comes in between the ages of 12-17 with a full permanent dentition, this is the place where they will begin as well. It’s OK if we didn’t see you for early treatment, we will just have some catching up to do!
There are many factors to consider when doing orthodontic treatment, but the average length of time braces are worn is 24 months. Dr. Asano will want to see the patient every 4-6 weeks for an adjustment to ensure we are progressing at a natural pace. At these appointments wires are adjusted, new hardware is placed and all specialized treatment for your individual case is performed.
